| Antonio Cardoso Andrade, or Mestre Brasilia
was born in Alagoinhas-Bahia, is one of the more respected and older
masters of Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 1959, at 19 years old, he began
taking Capoeira with the famous Mestre Canjiquinha, one of the old
vanguards of Capoeira in the city of San Salvador, Bahia. In 1966,
he graduated to the rank of master and left for the city of Sao
Paulo. There with Mestre Suassuna they formed the group “Cordao
de Ouro” (Cord of Gold) one of the premier groups of Capoeira
in Brazil. In 1969 He founded the group “Associacao de Capoeira
Sao Bento Grande”. |
