Christophe began training Capoeira in 1977 in Sao Paulo
Brazil with the highly respected Mestre
Brasilia, founder of the Association of Capoeira Sao Bento Grande.
One year later he received his first belt (green). In 1982, after
many hours of intensive training, Christophe graduated and received
his qualifying belt (green, yellow and blue). Christophe then moved
to Paris where he rapidly became associated with all the Capoeira
schools there. He continued his training; began teaching and performing
in various clubs and restaurants.
Christophe arrived in Melbourne in 1989; 2 years later he opened
his own Capoeira School - 'Afro-Brazil'. With his students improving
rapidly, Christophe started group performances with them in various
venues. Today, Christophe has a growing list of students; he also runs workshops and seminars at schools and festivals.
Christophe has also extensively toured Australia and overseas with
his six-piece percussion band - 'Bad Boys Batucada', releasing 5
albums worldwide. |
